On offer is a super, massive archive of three [3] circa 1930s - 1940s scrapbooks detailing the emigration from Denmark and her embracing and love for her new American way of life compiled Magda Hanson who came to America and became a citizen and a resident of Greenwich Connecticut. Miss Hansen was born Aug. 30 1897 in Copenhagen Denmark and came to the USA. In 1924 becoming a naturalized citizen in 1939. She voted for the first time in 1940 and had been very active in all the War Bond drives. Her brother was killed in the First World War in France, and during the Second World War her niece and nephew served in the Danish underground. These volumes contain her travels, associates, business and pleasure, photos, telegrams, cards, letters from world dignitary, poetry, logs, and much, much more. The contents include, but not limited to: newspaper clippings announcing her functions; farewell cards from friends and associates; pencil drawn sketches from unknown artist; many telegrams, including one from Franklin Delano Roosevelt; postcards, ticket stubs, travel logs; hotel motel brochures and menus; dried pansies, heather, and more from the garden at which house she was born in Denmark; letters from St. Bonaventure Monastery New York; Denmark Consulate General, Greenwich Connecticut; First Selectman, Connecticut Senators and other legislative members Congress of the United States, details of her beneficiary in the estate of Hansen Australia; awards for Liberty Bond sales, Red Cross.
